This 45-credit, thesis-based Master of Science trains specialists in microbiology, infectious and autoimmune disease, inflammation and immunology. Students conduct original supervised research advancing knowledge in areas such as pathogen detection, infection-treatment strategies, antibiotic resistance and immune-system responses to disease, culminating in a research thesis. The program must be completed on a full-time basis and is designed for completion in two years. Admission sessions run in fall, winter and summer. Before applying, candidates must secure a research supervisor by contacting one of the program's professors. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in health sciences or an equivalent diploma. French proficiency is strongly recommended and working knowledge of English is required for reading scientific literature.
