The Bachelor's in Translation trains students as translators skilled in translation methods and procedures, with a focus on general and specialized translation and terminology. Students may also take French and foreign-language courses and an introductory course in interpretation. Specialized domains covered include economics, business and finance, law, medicine, science, audiovisual media, literature, advertising, and sustainable development. Graduates develop strong French writing skills, English comprehension, broad general knowledge, and familiarity with professional translation environments. The three-year, 90-credit, full-time program is offered mainly on campus with some distance and hybrid course options, and admits new students in the fall term.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: For Quebec DEC holders: any DEC, plus a mandatory admission aptitude test assessing English comprehension and French writing skills. For applicants from elsewhere in Canada: a secondary diploma plus one year of university study, plus the aptitude test. Non-francophone applicants must score at least 600/699 on the TCF-TP test and at least 14/20 on the written expression component.
