The Baccalaureat en traduction is a three-year, 90-credit undergraduate program in English-to-French translation at Universite de Montreal. Students develop translation competence across specialized domains including biomedicine, business and law, and literary texts, building strategies of linguistic and cultural transfer alongside technology literacy in computer-assisted translation tools and AI-assisted translation. Professional practice is aligned with the standards of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interpretes agrees du Quebec (OTTIAQ). Students may follow the regular pathway or a co-operative education (COOP) track with three paid internships on a rotating cycle, and academically strong students can pursue an international track that includes a semester abroad and study of a third language. The program is delivered on-campus in Montreal, full-time, in day classes, with intakes in both the winter and fall terms. A criminal background check is required for practicum placements in healthcare or education settings.
