Music: Interdisciplinary Music Studies (Jazz) is a four-year Bachelor of Music (Specialist) offered by the Faculty of Music on the St. George campus, combining a jazz-focused core with flexibility to study across other disciplines. Core courses cover global and Western music history alongside jazz history, jazz theory and ear training, ensemble participation, and individual instrumental or vocal instruction. Students complete a minimum of 20 full credits, of which up to eight may be Arts & Science electives, allowing music study to be combined with another field. Year one includes a professional-development course on building a creative career, and year two includes a course on developing an artistic identity; years three and four allow further electives across music or Arts & Science. Certificate options are available in areas such as Music Technology, Music Entrepreneurship, and Ethnomusicology. Graduates are prepared for further study or careers in performance, composition, education, and arts administration.
