The Master of Health Science (MHSc) in Speech-Language Pathology, Practitioner stream, is a full-time professional graduate program at the University of Toronto that prepares practitioners for entry into the practice of speech-language pathology, including the assessment, treatment, and management of speech, voice, language, and swallowing disorders. Coursework and clinical internships are integrated in a modular curriculum, and students take part in an interprofessional education curriculum alongside other health science programs at the university. The two-year, full-time program spans six sessions across two Fall-Winter-Summer registration cycles and totals 17.5 full-course equivalents, combining academic coursework with four clinical placements totaling 30 weeks of supervised clinical experience; students also complete a comprehensive portfolio requirement in their final year. Admission requires a minimum B+ average. Applications are not submitted through the School of Graduate Studies; prospective students apply, and find fee information, through the Ontario Rehabilitation Sciences Programs (ORPAS) service. Students interested in a research-focused route may instead pursue the Speech-Language Pathology (Research) program.
