University Transfer: Engineering Certificate - Transfer to SFU is a certificate in Engineering & Technology programme taught at Vancouver Community College in Vancouver, Canada. The programme runs for 1 year, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 26,869 per total (CAD 6,700 per total for local students).
VCC's University Transfer – Engineering certificate is a one-year, full-time program (with up to three years allowed to finish, or sixteen months to keep assured admission to SFU) that completes the Common First-Year Engineering Curriculum, a course of study also recognized for transfer by UBC Vancouver, UBC Okanagan, UNBC, UVic, and TRU. Coursework covers calculus, applied linear algebra, physics, chemistry, engineering graphics and design, an introduction to computer programming, and academic writing, delivered through lectures, labs, and case studies that can run face-to-face, blended, or fully online; admission requires Grade 12 graduation with English Studies 12 at a 'C+', Pre-Calculus 12 at a 'B', and Physics 12 and Chemistry 12 each at a 'C+' or equivalent. Students who finish the certificate with an overall 2.75 GPA across the required courses, while carrying at least 12 credits per term in two of those terms, qualify for SFU's assured second-year admission pathway into its engineering science program, which is also open to international students with a 3.0 GPA or higher; students who fall short of those marks can instead apply through SFU's standard competitive transfer process. Prior learning assessment and recognition is not available for this program.
