The Master of Divinity (MDiv) at Wilfrid Laurier University's Waterloo Lutheran Seminary prepares students for ordained and lay ministry and related vocations of service. The curriculum covers theology, biblical studies, pastoral counselling, ethics, church history, liturgics, and congregational administration, taught in small, discussion-based classes alongside peers from a range of faith traditions. The program combines academic study with practical, field-based ministry preparation, including supervised placements in congregational or community settings. It can be completed full-time or part-time, normally over two to three years, and is delivered in person. Admission is for the Fall term only. Graduates are prepared for ordained ministry, chaplaincy, and other vocational and lay leadership roles in faith communities, as well as further graduate study in theology or religious studies.
