The Bachelor of Social Work prepares students to support individuals, families, and communities while addressing social inequalities. The curriculum covers the racial and colonial histories of social work alongside contemporary understandings of diversity, equity, and inclusion, including Indigenous social work, social welfare, and human services. Students gain hands-on experience through a required professional placement that prepares them for registration as a social worker. The program offers direct entry for high school graduates and second-year entry for eligible community college students. Admission from Ontario secondary school requires English plus additional academic courses, with an admission average in the mid-80s. The program is based at the Keele Campus, with intake offered in the fall term only, and prepares graduates for registration and practice as a social worker across community, health, and social service settings.
