The Master of Social Work (MSW) combines coursework, a supervised practicum, and a practice-based research paper, preparing students to work with diverse populations across social service settings. Two entry routes are offered: an Advanced Standing route for applicants holding a BSW or equivalent honours undergraduate social work degree, and a longer route for applicants holding an honours undergraduate degree in a related subject. Admission to both routes requires a minimum B+ average and three letters of recommendation. The curriculum addresses clinical practice, social policy, and critical approaches to social work within diverse community, health, and institutional settings. Graduates receive the Master of Social Work credential and are prepared for direct practice, policy, and leadership roles across health, community, and social service organizations in Canada and internationally.
