Program details
Overview
Yukon University's Office Administration program offers three 30-credit certificates -- Administrative Assistant, Financial Assistant, and Medical Office Assistant -- that prepare students for careers in office administration with training in communications, office procedures, computer applications, and accounting. Each certificate runs full-time over nine months from September to May, or can be completed part-time over one to three years; graduates may complete an additional certificate within five years. Courses are offered online asynchronously, through in-person scheduled classes at the Ayamdigut campus, in community as directed, or in a condensed format for employer groups. The program begins each September, with certificate-specific courses continuing into the winter semester. Graduates must achieve a typing speed of 25 words per minute with 98% accuracy and maintain a GPA of 2.0 to graduate, and all students complete the Yukon First Nations Core Competency (YFN 101) requirement.
