This programme develops creative specialists skilled in new musical technologies, multimedia, and computing, with the knowledge to tune, repair, and adapt music-industry equipment for creative work. Learning outcomes include describing music theory and recording history, analysing musical data to form reasoned conclusions, understanding copyright law in performance and publishing, and implementing MIDI and multimedia programmes. Practical skills cover synthesising sound and producing multichannel recordings, measuring and calculating sound parameters, restoring digital audio, acoustically testing performance spaces, and initiating and managing multimedia projects, while general outcomes address communication, safe teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration on art projects. Coursework includes twentieth-century music history, acoustics, audio-technology fundamentals, music arrangement and production, sound synthesis, music recording, cinema music and sound effects, copyright, and sound-system design, together with a professional internship and a final degree project. Graduates can work as music directors, sound engineers, or in event technical support and audiovisual editing, or continue to second-cycle study.
