MA/MS in Architecture

The programme develops the ability to understand the social, cultural and technological dimensions of architecture and to express them through architectural design, combining interdisciplinary knowledge with research and design skills and the ability to visualise proposed solutions. Study moves from the fundamentals of architectural design, architectural materials and the history and theory of architecture into subjects such as residential and public-building design, building physics, building information modelling, spatial legislation and sustainable architecture, supported throughout by computer-aided design tools. Students examine the built environment from structural, material, aesthetic, social and economic viewpoints, develop original project proposals from an individual brief, and work on joint projects alongside a professional internship. Each module ends in an assessed examination, and the programme concludes with a final degree project and its defence.
