This programme builds research-based chemical-engineering knowledge and design skills, using experiments and modelling software to solve practical problems, introduce new technologies and raise the innovativeness of the chemical industry. Core modules include chemical-reaction engineering, fluid dynamics, chemical thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and process optimisation, developed through two research projects and a final master's project, with a wide range of electives covering polymer and petroleum engineering, catalyst production, industrial electrochemistry, glass engineering, inorganic-materials production, and the chemistry of textile finishing. Students learn to apply mathematics and natural sciences to new or optimised products and processes, evaluate technological processes and equipment across chemical industries, and carry out engineering work guided by circular-economy and environmental principles. Teaching combines lectures, laboratory work and seminars with independent study, concluding with a final degree project, assessed cumulatively. Graduates can carry out research, analytical, advisory and design work for chemical manufacturers, with access to doctoral study.
