This programme provides complex engineering, technological and management knowledge, developing the ability to apply the latest construction-engineering science to innovative construction-technology and management solutions. Core modules include waste management and recycling, modular construction and regenerative design, building data analytics paired with machine learning, quality management, the durability and life cycle of structures, construction logistics, geoinformation technologies, the digitisation of construction processes, construction-project management and construction contracts, developed through two linked research projects and a final master's project. Students learn to apply fundamental civil-engineering principles to new problems, critically evaluate innovative trends in construction technology and management, integrate building-information modelling and geoinformation systems into design, and make decisions that weigh circular-economy, safety and quality considerations. Teaching combines classroom lectures, laboratory work and seminars with independent study, concluding with a final degree project and its defence, assessed through a cumulative system weighting intermediate and final results.
