This master's programme builds expertise in both classical and modern approaches to process and system control, including the design and programming of robotic systems and the use of current automation equipment. Study subjects include information technology applied to control systems, the modelling and identification of systems, computer vision in robotics, and research methodology, supported by two research projects before the final degree project and its defence.
Graduates learn to build mathematical models of industrial processes from theoretical, experimental, and expert sources, to design automatic control, diagnostic, and monitoring systems, and to configure controllers and supervisory or distributed control systems. The curriculum applies these control methods across sectors such as chemical processing, biotechnology, food production, and environmental engineering, and prepares students to work in industrial, transport, and service enterprises as well as design organisations.
