Overview
This master's programme combines design, management and environmental-engineering knowledge for researching and designing products, services and systems aligned with a sustainable quality-of-life paradigm. Students learn to apply systemic design thinking within a context of sustainable transition, weighing what a given design choice means economically, socially, ethically and technologically, and to use creative and visualisation methods to develop concepts that respond to interdisciplinary, shifting conditions. Research training covers formulating hypotheses, designing studies and choosing scientific or artistic research methods, while special competences include forecasting alternative future scenarios, prototyping with sustainable materials and digital tools, and designing product-service ecosystems across micro, meso and macro levels. Teaching leans on hands-on studio work, consultation seminars and group projects, with assessment mainly through design projects, reports, oral presentations and concept maps; students also build teamwork skills, communicate in English, and relate design choices to economic, social and environmental consequences.
