The programme builds the skills and competences needed to work in advanced biotechnology industries, covering the design and conduct of research, the application of contemporary biotechnological methods and bioprocesses, and the development of innovative technologies for producing fine chemicals, biomaterials and bioproducts. Study addresses problems in biofuel technology, food additive and supplement technology, biopolymer engineering and environmental biotechnology, applying classical and modern modelling, optimisation and control methods alongside instrumental analysis and chromatography. Students learn to select and operate biotechnological equipment, design and analyse bioprocesses, and apply digital methods to develop new products from renewable raw materials, while also studying the social, health, safety, bioethical, environmental and commercial requirements that apply in the biotechnology industry. The programme emphasises socially responsible decision-making, leadership in entrepreneurial and team settings, and the ability to communicate research results both nationally and internationally.
