This programme develops the special knowledge and competencies needed to define and creatively resolve atypical scientific and practical problems in building construction, assessing the reliability, functionality, condition and behaviour of building materials and structures. Students learn to apply innovative methods to complex, undefined engineering problems involving buildings, structures, construction materials and manufacturing processes, design original solutions using building-information modelling and the numerical analysis of structures, and run experimental studies while weighing their data and conclusions critically. The curriculum also covers environmental impact, circular-economy principles, legal requirements, safety and quality when evaluating technological solutions, and preparing design documentation that draws on interdisciplinary and digital skills. Teaching combines lectures, laboratory work and seminars with independent study, concluding with a final degree project, assessed cumulatively. Graduates are equipped to plan, research and optimise construction-management decisions involving building structures and products.
