The 150-credit field of study covers applied mathematics, physics, engineering mechanics, hydraulics and aerodynamics, geodesy, and building law before moving into heating and air-conditioning design, ventilation and gas-supply systems, energy-efficient buildings, and the management of engineering systems, supported by corporate economy and business-planning subjects for those aiming to run their own company. Thirty credits of practical training include preparing cost estimates and maintaining engineering systems across two professional placements before a final practical training period and a twelve-credit thesis. Learning outcomes include designing heating, ventilation, water supply, and sewage systems that draw on alternative energy sources and energy-saving technology, independently selecting innovative technological and safety measures when planning renovation, installation, or maintenance work, and preparing project estimate documentation while assessing the impact of engineering equipment on a building's construction. Students also learn to communicate about engineering problems and solutions in Lithuanian and at least one foreign language and to take responsibility for the quality of their own and their team's work.
