BA/BS in Fashion Design

The programme trains fashion design professionals to respond to market needs, to design clothing collections individually and in teams, and to implement creative ideas for both industrial and one-off production within the fashion industry, while building familiarity with fashion marketing and the business side of the sector. Coursework runs from drawing, painting and the history of art and costume through clothing design, construction and sewing across four stages, fashion illustration, fabric design and contemporary fashion, into fashion marketing, brand management, sales planning and market research. Three creative-project placements, an industrial internship and a final internship lead into a professional bachelor's thesis. Students also learn to design and produce their own fabric using software and other technologies, including traditional and non-traditional methods of fabric decoration, and the programme includes an annual student fashion event organised by lecturers and students.
