Overview
This programme trains cyber systems specialists to design, install and administer computer and network systems, maintain their hardware and software, and plan, coordinate and implement information security measures. Students choose between a Cyber-Physical Systems specialisation, which trains administrators of cyber-physical systems, the internet of things, application servers and databases, and a Cyber Security specialisation, which trains administrators who install, develop and maintain the cybersecurity technologies of information systems and computer networks. Research training covers analysing information sources, visualisation, computer simulation and practical testing to interpret organisational ICT requirements and draw up technical specifications. Teaching combines interactive lectures with case analysis, practical work in computer classrooms and a virtual laboratory, and project work assessed through consultation, self-study and defence. Graduates can supervise teams implementing cyber security technology, assess engineering solutions against ethical, legal, social, economic and safety criteria, and administer services to ensure quality for end users.
