This 3.5-year programme emphasises monitoring pregnant women and their babies through normal and pathological pregnancy, applying up-to-date healthcare technology and evidence-based practice. Study subjects include anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pathophysiology, prenatal diagnostics and basic ultrasound training, gynaecological diseases, surgery in gynaecology and obstetrics, perinatal psychology, and applied research in obstetrics and statistics, with an alternative module in digital health innovations or e-health. Eighty-five credits of internships cover midwifery and general nursing, neonatal care, care of women with gynaecological conditions, perioperative care, emergency medical aid and intensive care, and perinatal and postnatal care, concluding in a final internship and a graduation paper. Learning outcomes include integrating midwifery, nursing, ethics, and the natural and social sciences into research-based care for pregnant, labouring, and postpartum women, applying leadership skills to organise family reproductive healthcare and support throughout labour, and reasoning through and taking responsibility for decisions made in professional practice.
