The programme builds foundational knowledge of how the sports industry operates as a business, combining economic and strategic management principles with the practical skills needed to develop sporting services for a global market. Students examine theories of sports-industry development and apply them to analyse current operations and future opportunities, learn to manage the human, financial, capital and information resources of a sports business, and study the legal frameworks and practical cases relevant to national and international sports organisations. The curriculum also covers sports marketing and communication, social responsibility and professional ethics, and trains students to initiate and carry out sports-business projects and to conduct research that can be applied to innovation within an enterprise. Teaching relies on participatory methods, including discussions, debates, group and individual reflection, critical essay writing and self-study assignments, with assessment through oral and written examinations, theory tests, presentations and peer review. The programme combines management, business, law, marketing and ethics in an interdisciplinary structure described as the first of its kind in Lithuania to bring sport and business together.
