Overview
This research master's programme investigates human movement, drawing on scientific studies both fundamental and applied, within sport and health, covering questions such as how toddlers learn to walk, how augmented reality might assist patients with Parkinson's disease, how athletes achieve maximum muscle performance, and how falls can be prevented among older people. It treats human movement as shaped by interactions between environment, behaviour, the brain and the body. Students specialise in one of four domains: biomechanics, movement neuroscience, psychology or physiology, developing research and academic skills applied to areas such as sport, prevention and health, physical education, and physically demanding professions including police and military work.
