Cert in Examen philosophicum

Examen philosophicum is a 10-credit introduction to central philosophical questions and the thinkers who have answered them. The course has three parts: history of philosophy, which is about half the content; philosophy of science, covering argumentation theory and scientific work; and ethics, with ethical models and political philosophy. Teaching is on campus and the course is studied part-time. The course prepares students for further study and is compulsory in many university programmes. It can also be taken as a standalone course and counts as equivalent to similar courses at universities.
