BA/BS in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies, General

The Interdisciplinary Studies major lets students shape much of their own curriculum within university guidelines. Each student selects three disciplines of study and completes a set block of credit hours in each, with upper-level coursework required in every area. Majors also complete the university core curriculum, a course on library research and a final integrative project that ties their chosen fields together. With close to one hundred programs to draw on, students have wide choice, and classes stay small so faculty mentors can offer personal attention. Global learning trips and volunteer work add real-world experience. Career paths vary with the disciplines chosen, and internships help students clarify their direction. The format suits students whose interests cross traditional boundaries and who want ownership of their academic plan.
