Requirements

Minimum GPA: 2.80 / 4.0
Admission Requirements: Standard entry to the Applied Computing Master of Science requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 2.8 out of 4.0 (70%). Applicants from another discipline may instead qualify through alternate entry with a bachelor's degree at a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (73%), demonstrating computing knowledge through prior education or work experience via a Pre-entry Assessment form. English proficiency follows BCIT's Graduate Studies standard, English Studies 12 at 67% or equivalent, met under the institute-wide policy by IELTS Academic 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 4.5 with every section at least 4.0 (legacy scale 86, no section below 20). Applicants must submit a Mandatory Applicant Questionnaire and arrange two references, sent directly to the admissions committee within one week of the deadline. International applicants outside Canada, the US, UK, Australia or New Zealand require credential evaluation through ICES. The single annual intake is September.

Application Deadline: September 2027 entry, one intake a year taken in three rounds: round 1 runs 1 October 2026 to 31 January 2027, round 2 1 February to 31 March 2027, and round 3 1 April to 15 June 2027; international applicants may only apply in round 3 and must already hold a valid BCIT study permit. The September 2026 intake is closed.
