Overview
This AEC trains students in property appraisal: conducting building inspections, preparing analysis tables, researching property records at the land-registry office, producing appraisal reports, calculating building costs, and using discipline-specific terminology. The 1,650-hour, work-integrated curriculum includes a 210-hour credited internship and uses tools such as the Geocentralis appraisal software and the Microsoft Office suite; a personal laptop is required. CNDF is the only college in eastern Quebec to offer this programme, which has no enrolment cap. It runs 16 months over 4 sessions and is delivered online or in class. Graduates typically work for municipalities on property assessment, financial institutions on mortgage lending, insurance offices, real-estate sellers, private appraisal firms, or government expropriation services. CNDF reports a 100% employment rate for recent graduates of the programme.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must have completed Secondary 4 Mathematiques CST or Mathematiques 436, plus have training deemed sufficient by the college and meet one of: an interruption of full-time studies (or full-time post-secondary study) for at least two consecutive sessions or a school year, an agreement between the college and an employer or a government programme, or a Diplome d'etudes professionnelles (DEP). A personal laptop is mandatory for this programme.
