Program details
Overview
Early Childhood Education Techniques is a three-year technical DEC at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy preparing students to support children from birth through elementary age in childcare settings. The program develops intervention techniques for children's motor, emotional, intellectual, language, social and creative development through a work-integrated model: students spend one day a week in a childcare setting during the first two sessions, two days weekly in sessions three and four, three days weekly in session five, and an intensive final session combining coursework with an extended practicum placement. It suits students who enjoy working with children, are organized and creative, work well in teams, and communicate clearly with children, families and colleagues. Admission is fall-only with no enrollment cap, and international candidates are eligible. Graduates typically work as early childhood educators or pedagogical advisors, and the DEC provides a pathway into university programs in early childhood education, teaching, social work or psychoeducation.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Techniques d'education a l'enfance DEC at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy requires a Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or its recognized equivalent; the programme's admission-conditions page lists no further Secondary-level course prerequisite, minimum grade, or average. The page does not describe an interview, portfolio, criminal-record check, or other screening step for admission. The programme has no enrolment cap (aucun contingentement), is open to international candidates, and admits students for the fall (September) session only, according to the programme's own information page.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy rather than through a regional admission service: for September 2027 entry, admission rounds close 1 March, 1 May, 1 June and 1 August 2027, after which late requests are still accepted case-by-case, subject to space, until the end of the first week of classes; a few contingented programmes such as Police Technology can close earlier once seats fill. International applicants are admitted for the Fall intake only, with applications due by 15 February 2027 for most countries and by 30 April 2027 for French nationals; no winter intake is offered internationally, and CNDF publishes no distinct domestic winter-round dates beyond noting winter admission exists. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
