Program details
Overview
This CEGEP-level pre-university Diploma of College Studies (DEC) combines the Human Sciences core curriculum with a Police and Security profile, integrating psychology, sociology, and political science to examine human behaviour and social phenomena. The programme runs over four sessions and is organized around three core values: respect, responsibility, and cooperation. Students take part in supervised physical training sessions, community-based learning experiences, and simulation exercises relevant to policing and public-safety work. Graduates who continue into related post-secondary technical programmes, such as Police Techniques or Correctional Intervention Techniques, receive advance course credit toward those credentials. As a pre-university DEC, the programme prepares students for university-level study in fields such as criminology, psychology, political science, or law rather than providing direct entry into a technical occupation. Classes are delivered on campus in Quebec City.
