BA/BS in Environmental Studies is a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences programme offered by Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Canada. Tuition for international students is CAD 392 per credit (CAD 223 per credit for local students).
This Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies builds an interdisciplinary understanding of the earth and sustainability by combining three areas: natural sciences covering climate, soil, water systems and ecology; social sciences examining the economic and political structures that shape resource use; and humanities perspectives drawing on literature, philosophy, and theology as frameworks for thinking about the environment. Coursework named on the program page includes Ecology I and II, The Genetic Revolution, Cells and Energy, Introduction to Global Health, Organic Chemistry, and Just and Sustainable Food Systems, and students can personalize their studies by selecting from relevant courses across the university's broader offerings. The program is based on campus at Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg; the page does not specify whether alternative delivery formats are available. It is intended for students who want to translate environmental and social-justice knowledge into action, developing the capacity to identify, research, and respond to issues connecting ecological systems with social structures. The blend of natural science, social science, and humanities coursework distinguishes the program from environmental science degrees focused solely on the physical sciences, suiting students interested in the cultural and ethical dimensions of environmental issues alongside the scientific ones.
