The PhD in International Affairs is offered through Carleton University's Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA). Students may specialize in international conflict management and resolution, international development policy, international economic policy, or security, intelligence and defence. The program admits students in the Fall term and has a nominal length of four to five years of full-time study. Applicants must hold a master's degree and meet Carleton's general doctoral admission standards, which require a minimum grade of B+ across coursework and the thesis, with no grade below B-.
