Carleton's Master of Architecture (M.Arch) is a professional, accredited degree offered through the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism. The program emphasizes creativity and innovation within both theoretical and practical design parameters, and students may pursue elective specializations such as climate change or accessibility in the built environment. It is offered in two tracks: a shorter stream for applicants who already hold an undergraduate architecture background, and a longer stream for those entering from outside the discipline, with a single Fall admission intake. As an accredited professional degree, the M.Arch prepares graduates to pursue licensure as architects in Canada and equips them for careers in architecture and related interdisciplinary design fields. Studio-based design work is combined with coursework in history, theory, technology, and professional practice.
