Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering is a Bachelor of Engineering degree at Carleton University (21.5 credits), offered through the Faculty of Engineering and Design. The program combines architecture and engineering education around two areas: heritage building conservation and sustainable building design, including the retrofit of existing buildings and the design of sustainable building systems. Students gain hands-on experience through building science and structural engineering labs, working on projects such as historic building restoration and green building design. Graduates are prepared for engineering roles connected to building conservation, retrofit engineering, and sustainable design, and for professional engineering licensure through the standard Canadian engineering pathway.
