Overview
The Master of Science in Architecture is a thesis-based graduate program offered by the Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering. The program develops research, analysis, experimentation, design research, and interpretation skills applicable to architectural practice, allied disciplines, and society, with flexibility between a written and a design-oriented thesis. Original research addresses architectural, engineering, landscape, and urban issues with implications for the built environment, preparing graduates for doctoral study or leadership roles in professional practice. The program is based at a close-knit school of roughly 250 students and 40 faculty founded in 1896, located on McGill's downtown campus. Admission requires an eligible bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0), plus McGill's English-language proficiency requirement for applicants whose first language is not English. The program admits students in the Fall term.
