Diploma in Nursing is a diploma in Nursing programme offered by Cégep de Baie-Comeau in Baie-Comeau, Canada. The programme runs for 3 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 11,740 per semester.
Nursing (180.A0) is a three-year technical DEC at Cégep de Baie-Comeau, delivered over six sessions with coursework in human anatomy, microbiology, psychology of human development and clinical nursing interpretation, alongside specialized areas such as obstetrics and pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency care and palliative care. Laboratory work uses adult, child and pregnant-patient simulators, and students train in the college's own simulated clinical setting before completing regular internships in health care work settings. General education in philosophy, literature, English, physical education and ethics is integrated alongside the nursing curriculum. The program suits candidates with an aptitude for helping relationships, interest in biology and chemistry, emotional stability, manual dexterity and physical stamina. Graduates must pass the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec examination to practise, and DEC-BAC agreements with Quebec universities, including UQAR, allow credit toward a bachelor's degree in nursing.
