Program details
Overview
This program trains medical electrophysiology technologists to perform diagnostic examinations of the heart, brain, and nervous system using specialized equipment that captures the body's bioelectric activity. Students learn to adapt examinations to individual patients and provide physicians with diagnostic data used to diagnose conditions and adjust treatment, working with a varied clientele that includes people with cardiac or neurological conditions. The final year of the three-year Diploma of College Studies (DEC) is dedicated entirely to clinical internship placements. Described by the cégep as the only program of its kind offered in the Quebec City region, it reports that all graduates pass the professional order's licensing examination.
