Overview
Profil Destination monde is a Sciences humaines DEC track combining the program's core social-science courses with an international immersion of eight to ten weeks in a country in Asia, Africa, or South America, undertaken during the fourth session. In the first year, students take an exclusive course called Développement international alongside standard Sciences humaines courses (geography, political science, history) and general-education courses, along with preparatory activities led by staff responsible for the project. In the second year, students take a course focused on their destination country before departure, along with courses in geography and international politics, and a complementary language course tied to the destination. During the immersion itself, students continue coursework in geography, sociology, and psychology, and complete a capstone project, structured around their lived experience abroad and their host-family stay. Support during the program includes a dedicated social-science lounge and a peer-tutoring help centre. The profile marked its 25th year in operation at time of writing. It suits students drawn to international affairs, intercultural experience, and community engagement who want their college studies to include an immersive, credited period abroad.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The Destination Monde profile's own admissions page requires the CST 4e secondaire course (Mathématiques 416) on top of the college's general secondary-diploma requirement. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent. No distinct English- or French-language test score is set; language ability is covered by those fifth-secondary language courses. Candidates must also meet the Ministry's program-specific admission conditions, the Cégep's own admission policy and Règlement no. 12 on academic success. The page does not mention an interview, letter of intent or other selection condition specific to this profile.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM): Cégep Marie-Victorin's own admission page references 'session automne 2027' deposits handled directly on admission.sram.qc.ca, where the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry and 1 November 2026 for Winter 2027 entry (applications opening 15 September 2026), with later rounds in late April, late May and late November respectively while seats remain. International applicants apply through the same SRAM portal: the college's own international page fixes a Fall closing date of 14 March, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and advises applying as early as possible because of immigration-processing timelines; no winter international deadline is published. Admission is rolling round to round until seats fill, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
