Overview
Profil Arts numériques is a track within the Arts visuels program for students whose creative interests lean toward technology-based media, combining digital photography, animation, and video art with more traditional practices such as drawing, painting, and sculpture. The program shares an arts-focused pavilion with Design d'intérieur and Graphisme, and gives students access to specialized workshops covering drawing, woodworking, sculpture, ceramics, screen printing, engraving, film photography, and digital-arts tools. Activities include visits to artists' studios and galleries, museum visits, and meetings with contemporary artists, supported by a landscaped campus suited to environmental-art projects and a sculpture park. Students build a professional-level portfolio over the course of the program and can exhibit work in the on-campus gallery, take part in creative competitions and arts events, and some students are able to sell a piece into the college's permanent art collection. An arts-focused study trip to Cuba or New York is also available. Students in this profile can pursue a Double DEC combining visual arts with Sciences de la nature, Musique, or Sciences humaines. Admission Requirements: Arts visuels' admissions page states no course prerequisite beyond the college's general secondary-diploma requirement, and does not specify a portfolio for the Profil arts numériques. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent.
