Overview

Commercialisation de la mode is a technical DEC (Diploma of College Studies) program within the École de mode at Cégep Marie-Victorin, described as the only public cégep offering this program. It trains students in the commercial and marketing side of the fashion industry, covering buying, merchandising, selling, communication, and digital commerce, with an emphasis on digital marketing techniques and building professional partnerships with fashion businesses. The specific curriculum uses an interactive, collaborative, and practical approach delivered through dedicated fashion-program facilities, including an event space, a retail-commerce laboratory, a media library, and technology-equipped classrooms. Learning activities include conferences, guest talks with industry professionals, site visits, collaborations with fashion companies on product launches and fundraising initiatives, and the possibility of an international study stay. In the final session, students complete two capstone activities: an integration project in which they apply a strategic planning process to propose a competitive fashion business strategy for an existing company or an entrepreneurial venture, and a work-integration placement with fashion industry businesses. The program suits students interested in the business, marketing, and retail side of fashion who want practical, industry-connected training combining strategic and commercial skills with hands-on placement experience.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: This DEC programme's own admission page defers to Cégep Marie-Victorin's general Diploma of College Studies requirements, with no additional course-specific prerequisite for Commercialisation de la mode. Candidates qualify by holding a Diplome d'etudes secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplome d'etudes professionnelles (DEP) with passes in Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language and Secondary 4 mathematics, or training the Cegep judges equivalent. Applicants must also meet any Ministry-set subject prerequisites, the College's own admission conditions for the programme, the Cegep's admission policy and Reglement no. 12 on academic success. The language requirement is met through the Secondary 5 French language-of-instruction course within the DES or DEP; the pages do not publish a separate proficiency test or score for this programme. The programme's own page notes inscription and materials fees of $280-310 per session plus supplies, but states no portfolio, interview or other special admission condition.

Application Details

Start Date: September
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM): Cégep Marie-Victorin's own admission page references 'session automne 2027' deposits handled directly on admission.sram.qc.ca, where the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry and 1 November 2026 for Winter 2027 entry (applications opening 15 September 2026), with later rounds in late April, late May and late November respectively while seats remain. International applicants apply through the same SRAM portal: the college's own international page fixes a Fall closing date of 14 March, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and advises applying as early as possible because of immigration-processing timelines; no winter international deadline is published. Admission is rolling round to round until seats fill, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
