Diploma in Tremplin DEC

Tremplin DEC is an out-of-program (hors programme) pathway at Cégep Marie-Victorin for students who are unsure which program to choose, are missing prerequisite courses for a program they want to enter, or wish to change program mid-course. Rather than granting its own diploma, it lets students continue college studies by taking general-education courses while they prepare to join or rejoin a regular DEC program, with course selections adapted to each student's individual situation and remaining requirements. The page describes Tremplin DEC as a chance to become familiar with college life, advance general-education courses so a lighter schedule is possible once a program is chosen, build self-knowledge of interests and academic record relative to career options, and get involved socially. Quebec's Ministère de l'Éducation limits students to a maximum of three consecutive sessions in Tremplin DEC, after which they must change program or interrupt their studies for at least one session. It suits students in transition between programs or exploring their options before committing to a specific DEC.
