Diploma in Techniques d'inhalothérapie

Techniques d'inhalothérapie is a three-year technical DEC at Collège de Rosemont preparing students to provide cardiorespiratory care and respond to critical clinical situations. Training combines classroom instruction with hands-on practice in simulation rooms equipped with patient simulators that recreate real clinical scenarios, alongside case studies and simulations drawn from instructors' own field experience. Students study pulmonary and cardiovascular pathologies and their treatments, and complete clinical placements (stages) starting in the first session across sectors such as pediatrics, critical care, anesthesia, pulmonary function testing, and general cardiorespiratory care. The program also gives students practice at the college's on-site health teaching clinic, for example educating parents on respiratory medications or helping patients understand respiratory illness and treatment, and provides a dedicated student space for study and peer support. Admission requires a secondary diploma with mathematics and chemistry prerequisites; the program is non-selective and generally admits eligible SRAM applicants in the first round. Graduates must join the Ordre professionnel des inhalothérapeutes du Québec to practise. It suits students drawn to acute, technical patient care across the lifespan, from newborns to adults, in hospital and community settings.
