This technical Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Tourism Techniques develops skills for the tourism industry, including marketing, sales, customer service, tour guiding, event coordination, and project management. It runs three years (2,520 hours) and is delivered trilingually in French, English, and Spanish, including a full session in English immersion, four Spanish courses, and study travel to reinforce second- and third-language skills. Coursework covers welcoming tourism clientele, guiding and leading groups, developing and selling tourism products and services, managing tourism events, and handling related administrative tasks, combining classroom-based and field-based training for direct client contact. A two-year intensive pathway is available for students who already hold a DEC. Graduates typically pursue roles such as event coordinator, sales or tourism-information coordinator, travel advisor, or small-business manager in tourism, and can continue to university study in tourism management, marketing, project management, geography, communication, or hospitality management through a DEC-BAC agreement with the ITHQ.
