Automotive Service Technician is a 35-week, Red Seal-aligned certificate program at College of the North Atlantic that trains students to adjust, test and repair vehicle engines, steering, braking and drive-train systems, suspensions, and electrical and air-conditioning systems, and to perform wheel alignments. Students learn to diagnose faults using testing equipment, service and repair parts, and communicate with customers about maintenance needs. The program is delivered on-campus and is offered at the Bay St. George, Gander and Prince Philip Drive campuses, with intake each September. Admission requires high school graduation or an equivalent academic pathway, and international applicants must meet the college's English language proficiency requirements. The program notes it may not be suitable for applicants without normal colour perception. Graduates are prepared for work in garages, service stations and dealerships as automotive service technicians, parts specialists or service advisors, and can pursue Red Seal Journeyperson certification through four to five years of apprenticeship.
