Overview

Graphic Design at College of the North Atlantic is a two-year diploma program covering visual communication, design theory, and design software across print and digital media. Coursework runs across six semesters, with an intersession component between semesters three and four. Delivery is on-campus at the Prince Philip Drive campus. Admission accepts a High School Graduation Certificate with a 60% average across eight level 3000 credits, a College Transition Certificate at a 60% pass mark, or Adult Basic Education (Level III) with the General College Profile at a 60% average; applicants also submit a portfolio with a personal statement (maximum 500 words), one promotional design project, and at least five portfolio pieces. Graduates work in advertising agencies, design companies, in-house design departments, and freelance or self-employed roles.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry accepts a High School Graduation Certificate with a 60% average across eight level 3000 credits, a College Transition Certificate at a 60% pass mark, or Adult Basic Education (Level III) with the General College Profile at a 60% average; mature students (age 19+, out of school one year) may apply individually. All applicants must submit a portfolio including a personal statement (maximum 500 words), one promotional design project, and a minimum of five portfolio pieces. English proficiency is not set at programme level and instead follows CNA's institution-wide requirement: IELTS Academic overall band 6.0, TOEFL iBT 79, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo 105, per Admission Procedure AC-102-PR.
