Overview
The MA in Political Science is a thesis-based program that trains students to address pressing questions in contemporary politics through analytical and critical research, preparing graduates for careers in academia, public administration, industry, and non-governmental organizations. The program requires 45 credits over two years of full-time study, based at the Sir George Williams campus, and combines coursework with an original research thesis under faculty supervision. Admission requires an undergraduate honours degree, or the equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 3.30. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall term only, with an application deadline of January 15 for all applicants. Funding packages, including awards, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships, are generally available to students in the program, and out-of-province students may be eligible for additional special funding toward thesis-based study.
