Overview
The Graduate Diploma in Computer Science is a one-year, minimum 32-credit program for university graduates from other disciplines who want to build expertise in computer science fundamentals. Delivered on Concordia's Sir George Williams campus, the program brings students to a level of computer science knowledge comparable to a bachelor's degree in the field, and graduates may subsequently apply to Concordia's master's program in Computer Science. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with above-average standing and completion of an object-oriented programming course, such as COMP 248, or an equivalent course in a language like C++ or Java, before entry. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall term only. On completion, students receive a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science.
