Overview
This fully online program will provide graduates with the key concepts of information security, technical and practical job skills necessary to secure, protect and defend network infrastructures and an organization's valuable data assets. Students will gain a broad understanding of cyber security concepts, industry best practices for information security and key security concepts to protect an organization against fraud, data breaches and other vulnerabilities. The Cyber Security program is designed to prepare information and digital security professionals with the ability to manage, provide policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, policy framework, assess and mitigate risk and integrate advanced security solutions. The growing internet security sector requires an in-depth understanding of cyber security issues and fundamental internet architecture and protocols. In addition, network security skills such as packet, vulnerability, exploit analysis, and cyber security research will also be discussed. Graduates will develop highly marketable skills as analysts and security specialists in the cyber security field.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This continuing-education graduate certificate requires a two- or three-year diploma or degree from an accredited college or university in information technology or computers, or a minimum of two years' equivalent work experience; applicants relying on work experience must submit a current resume and a letter of application demonstrating how that experience is equivalent to a computer-related diploma or degree. The program page defers English-proficiency evidence to Conestoga's institution-wide requirements, and because it is a graduate/postgraduate credential the college's higher exception scale applies: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill under 22, PTE Academic 58, CAEL 70 with writing at least 60, or Duolingo English Test 120. Canadian citizens and permanent residents holding international transcripts must obtain a course-by-course credential evaluation through an approved provider such as ICAS or WES before admission.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
