Overview
Information technology and network infrastructure are targets for malicious activity on a regular basis. News reports about data breaches, security violations, privacy failures and other infrastructure failures highlight a growing threat to business and personal information. This one-year, full-time, graduate certificate program is designed to address this growing threat to our network infrastructure. It will provide students with the security background in network technologies, computing hardware, operating and protocols, to harden and further secure such systems from attack. Students will learn to identify threats through audits and supporting technical methods, as well as evaluate and develop appropriate policies to support a strong organizational security posture. This program offers skills that allow graduates to evaluate risk and design infrastructure solutions that keep a business' code, data and network systems safe.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet one of: an Ontario College diploma, advanced diploma, or degree, or equivalent, in a technology field such as computing, engineering, IT, or applications development, with an overall average grade of B or above; the same credential in another field plus a minimum of five years of full-time work as an IT system or network administrator or similar, with an overall average grade of B or above; or an Ontario College diploma plus that same five years of relevant full-time experience, again with an overall average grade of B or above. All candidates need fundamental experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, and networking concepts including TCP/IP. The page defers its language-test score to Conestoga's institution-wide English Language Proficiency Requirement, which for graduate certificates sets IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 88, PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
