Overview
DFIR teams are employed by large corporations, law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, cybersecurity service providers, government agencies, consulting organizations, and more. Becoming a member of a DFIR team is an excellent entry into the cybersecurity field, and students of this program will graduate with an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics in Cybersecurity, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to get started. Completing this program is also a great way for those with some experience in the IT field to acquire education to move or expand into the cybersecurity space.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, degree or equivalent, with an overall average grade of B or above, in computer science, software engineering, software engineering technology, computer programming/analysis, computer applications development, mobile applications development, mobile application security, or IT network security. The programme page defers its English-proficiency evidence to Conestoga's institution-wide scale, and as a postgraduate certificate the college's higher exception tier applies: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill under 22, PTE Academic 58, CAEL 70 with writing at least 60, or Duolingo English Test 120. Canadian citizens and permanent residents holding transcripts from outside Canada must obtain a course-by-course credential evaluation through an approved provider such as ICAS or WES before admission, and international applicants apply through a separate portal from domestic students.
